Haiku Friday: My child is too old edition

Giggles 1st day B&W
Tomorrow at noon
I will drive my sweet Giggles
to the Ice Cream Stand
The motivator?
Cash-to spend on what she wants.
To save for a car.
Where did the time go?
It seems like just yesterday
when she was a babe.
You know the sad part
Something unbelievable
That wonderful stuff.
The yummy ice cream
I will have to pay for it
No comps for the mom.
Want to play along or just read some really cool haikus?
Visit A Mommy Story for details.

Just one more day to get in on some sweet prizes and help
out Maddie at the same time. Every little bit helps!

You Blink and its Gone

I don’t know how it happened.  It seems as if time is running so
quickly these days. Minutes blast by like nano seconds and the
days seem like mere minutes on that are ticking by on this clock o’ life.
Sometimes I love the fact that the time goes by so quickly, we are that
much closer to spring-then summer.  The warmth, the heat, THE SUN!
But there are some things that I feel like I just don’t get to cherish enough as the
time so quickly ticks by. My hubby’s day off, the girls growing up, and just life in general.
I can’t believe that six years has passed and that we are nearing an
end of an era in our household. Just one week ago today we were
preparing Valentines for The Chicken to take to school.
We were getting goodie bags together and thinking
of what kind of treat I was going to bring to the class party.
The last official class party for a holiday.
I just don’t know how I will feel sending my baby off to the Middle School
next year.  But for now I will just try to cherish these moments a little longer.
And next time I complain about a school function for The Chicken this year,
remind me that there won’t be another like it again.

Some Pictures for your viewing pleasure

Remember that awesome shawl I knit. Well, its folded up in my wooden bowl for my fiber next to my wheel when who should happen to think that I made her a comfy bed….yup that’s right….Devil Cat! When I would call her name she would simply yarn and then go back to sleep. The only thing I can say is its a good thing that Beth isn’t allergic to cats!

But little Oscar man is not happy and is looking at his friend and wondering how she gets to lay in mom’s stuff with out mom having a canary.

Giggles is posing with her unblocked hat. She is complaining that is is waaaay to big (of course those aren’t Giggles exact words because as a mother of a teenager I can not ever quote her correctly, that would be some sort of crazy weird phenomenon in which the authorities would have to be contacted so they could properly document it, but then I am sure that they wouldn’t document it correctly…so why bother!)

Here she is pouting….why pouting I don’t know. I guess it is better than the typical myspace I get with the peace sign.

Well that’s all for now, more tomorrow…..errrr, later today I mean.
