I was going to write up the stuff about the scavenger hunt I am going to host, but instead I got my domain name all up and going. If you noticed at the top you are now at www.domesticextraordinaire.com
It’s Tuesday again!
Beauty in Letters
I have seen many things online that really inspire me. Many people out there take tremendous photos and I just sit at my computer in awe of the beauty they find around them.
Haiku Friday
Is it really Tuesday?
I can’t believe it isn’t still Monday. I can’t believe that I pretty much slept Monday away. It started out with us getting up at 4:30 in the A.M. to take my FIL to the airport and ended with me falling asleep on the couch watching the Bucks and the Longhorns play. It wasn’t looking good for the Bucks when I fell asleep, hopefully the situation improved during my slumber.
My big accomplishments for Monday were napping and putting on pants. I also went to my friend’s house and picked up our wii-chucks for “Chuck” our wii. (Yes, yes we got a wii, the girls each chipped in some Christmas Cash and we put in the rest-its been great fun, especially when I saw that you get to give your wii a nickname and ours is Chuck)
In an effort to take more photos for fun I have decided that I want to host a scavenger hunt of sorts. More details will be coming very soon.
Today, the day in which I was going to dedicate to my scavenger hunt, will instead be dedicated to my house. Hubby has been very unhappy with the house as of late. It isn’t that it is dirty, it is just very disorganized. He doesn’t like my piles, he doesn’t like our bedroom, and he really hates my office. He has other dislikes as well, but these are his major issues.
I know some of you are thinking “If he is complaining about it, why doesn’t he clean it?”
The simple fact is this, he has asked and I have refused to let him. I think it is a matter of pride and then feeling like I am letting him down. He goes out and works 12-15 hours a day and I can’t seem to get this cleaning thing done right.
But we compromised, he will let me clean and then he will help me with problem areas that need help being organized. (Why he didn’t listen to me when I asked him to help me over 3 years ago when we moved into our house-I have and always will be organizationally challenged) When I shove things into cabinets and drawers put things away, they aren’t always utilizing the space they are in to its fullest potential.
So tomorrow, I will talk more of the scavenger hunt. Hopefully you will be as excited about it as I am!
Looking back
For the past couple of days, well nearly a week now, I have been going through all my favorite 2008 photos. When I got them all together in one place I realized something-most of the stuff was client stuff. I hardly documented our life at all. As the girls get older and my camera gets bigger they scoff at me when I try to document stuff. When they were younger they were so excited to see the camera. Now, not so much.
I realize that I have been more involved, actually being a part of more, instead of worrying about documenting it, but I really need to document more. I can’t get these years back with the girls and I want to cherish every moment of every year.
I know that I can’t get back yesterday, but starting today I am going to try to take at least one photo a day just to document life around here. It doesn’t have to be of the girls or the hubby, per se, but of our life. I have found these past few days that even our rose bush blooming in the midst of fall still evokes a lot of emotion from me.
I made this photoshow to document our 2008, I hope you enjoy viewing a bit of our life through my lens-sorry for the grainy quality I am going to work on putting it in HD so that it looks better.
