Well, Chicken has returned to school today. She was complaining of her allergies bothering her, so I gave her the meds and dropped her off at school since it was raining (slightly) But apparently when you are 10 you melt in the rain, even if they do have a cute umbrella that they couldn’t live without.

I layed back down with hubby as he got in late last night watching the Cavs get beat at his dad’s. (The game ended at 10:30, he didn’t get home til after 1, but I am sure there was grieving going on or something…LOL) So anyways, the phone rings at 9:30. I answer and Chicken is on the other line. “um Mom my nose is bleeding, it won’t stop and my teacher wants you to come and look at it.”

Me….”is it gushing?”

Chicken…”Well, yeah…she told me to call you”

I throw on some jeans, drive quickly to the school thinking I didn’t pack hubbster a lunch and here I am going to have to take her to the peds to have her nose checked out….all these thoughts running thru my head.

I run to the office. Missy says to go check on her in the room. Umm…okay. So I head up the 2 flights of stairs to get there, walk into the classroom and she is holding a tissue with a couple smears of blood on them.

The teacher says very quickly “It was bleeding, longer than I felt comfortable, check her out….it JUST stopped”

I go over, look at her nose. No blood. Then I look at her and say “I think it stopped” I turned to the teacher and said “I am sure she is going to be just fine. Thanks for calling me, if it starts again let me know and I will come and get her. “

It’s been an hour and a half…..I am sure she is fine.

In dining floor news, No poly today, its raining :O(
But my friend is on her way over so I need to get ready to spin!!! Yea!!

Well, Chicken’s fever finally broke today, well not entirely, but hey 99.2 F is a far cry from 103.9 that she was cruising with for the past day and a half. She says her skin feels weird, but I think the red spots…there are two of them are definetly not the pox. So, bearing her body totally breaking out tonight she is going back to school tomorrow. Which is good because I am getting together with a friend to spin and knit. (Me spin, her knit) She is really toying with the idea of getting a wheel and she really wants to see me spin. I will happily give in to her request.

In other news the dining room floor is stained, we will poly tomorrow and the next day. I am so excited as it looks sooooooo good! (I know that there aren’t that many o’s in so….but sooooo what!)

I will leave you with a freakishly huge California strawberry that I purchased not long ago. That is my hand, I could believe the size of it! Altho it did taste yucky it was cool to look at!

I haven’t blogged in a few days, no knitting, lots of photo work and I think we may have the chicken pox here….ugh! Chicken is sick with a fever, but feeling fine otherwise. 4 kids in her class and 3 others in the fourth grade at school have had the pox in the past month. All of the kids have been vaccinated…..ugh! Parents I talk to don’t understand that the vaccination doesn’t prevent the pox, it only lessens the outbreak, if they are exposed to a serious enough strain. I really wish that the peds would “explain” this all to people and not just give them that 2 page leaflet that they will probably just glance through.

Today

It is now nearing 1 PM on this wonderful Thursday. The weather outside is nice sweatshirt weather ( I happen to have a sweatshirt on….from yesterday) I haven’t really accomplished much today in the way of anything. Well, I take that back. I did make the bed, I have gotten the hamper of dirty laundry brought downstairs, I did febreeze the couch. But come on Heather…..hubby left for work nearly 2.5 hrs ago and that isn’t much. Wait!! I cleaned the toliet….that counts!

Okay I am really grasping at straws here. I need to go to the post office. I need to pay some bills, I need to bring my wheel in from the car. But I am afraid if I do that then I will spin this roving that I have been staring at off and on all morning.

I have thought about the photo jobs I am doing this weekend, I have thought about what I am making for dinner tomorrow night. I have also thought of the knitting I am taking to the dealership tomorrow when my car goes in to get an oil change and have some work checked that they did in Jan.

I have also thought of some other stuff, but that train of thought has derailed and there is no hope for the survivors.

Hmmm, I should go up and get dressed. I should go up and do the dishes. I should go up and do something other than waste time here on the computer. Because I have things on the computer I could be doing productively….and I am not.

Are there days in your life where you feel way less than productive. Where you could sit on the couch all day watching pointless TV and nothing else. Do you give in to those days or do you fight with every inch of your being to not give in, that by not giving in that you are being somewhat productive?

Well maybe I shall go upstairs and make myself some lunch….then I will think about what I want to get done before the girls get home. I need to think fast tho, as the big one comes home in a little more than 2 hours.

Okay so I wasn’t sitting at the dock or by the bay. But I was sitting at my friend Rachael’s house on their patio at sunset enjoying some quiet time. It was heavenly. I had a bit of reflection and then enjoyed the sunset. Gosh I miss that sunset. I love my house, but I don’t have the view out the back door that she does.

I have been adjusting to life back home at a slow pace. I did get all the vacation photos off of my camera now I need to edit them because I always shoot in RAW. I should shoot JPEG, but I like to play around with the photos so I never do.

Well off to get the Chicken to eat some food before church…that is if I can find her. (Yes, bad mom….It is in the 60s here and no snow…she is outside playing, I think…LOL)

*On a sidenote….this took nearly 24 hours to upload, I don’t understand what I am doing wrong. UGH!!!!

Hi all! I am back after a 4 day delay in VA. Our van broke down on the side of 95…the left side to be exact….so we were stuck for some extra time in VA. I am sort of getting back into things here. While I was gone hubby decided to refinish the dining room floor, so the house is tore up right now. All of the dining room belongings are in the sitting room and the kids don’t have access to their computer and well…..ugh! I am excited but…ugh!
