What do you mean my car doesn’t run on Snow?!!?!

Ugh, I went past the gas station earlier and it said 3.45. I am not excited about this. That is a HUGE jump from the 3ish dollars we were paying a gallon. So I figure Costco is cheaper than normal, but last time not as cheap. Costco is not just around the corner from me, it is 9.2 miles away (one way) I check their website….nope nothing. I decide to call, I get someone right away and didn’t have to navigate miles and miles of automated crap~this should have been a warning sign.

“Hi this is So and So…how may I direct your call”

me-”Hi So and So, I am a member and I was wondering if you could let me know how much gas is today?”

“Ooohhh, right, um….I am really not supposed to tell you that, but…..” (Here’s where I think she is going to tell me but she isn’t…you know, sneaky like)
“I’ll just tell you that when I was coming into work it was like…um….3.45 a gallon……and…um…..I just say this…….its way cheaper here”
me-”What do you mean its way cheaper? It is over 9 miles one way and I only need gas”
“Well ma’am I think it may….um….be worth the trip….maybe”

UGH! I just got $20 at BP, as I need to go to Costco for a client tomorrow. But do you know how much my $20 got me?

About a 1/3 of a tank in the van. With all the snow I really wish my van ran on it. We wouldn’t be having the problem with getting in and out of the drive if it ran on snow I tell ya. (Yes we do clear our drive but the stuff is melting slush and the it refreezes….ick!)

Last night we had our spinning guild meeting. I picked up my step mom because she wanted to take her wheel to the meeting as we were starting to spin for Heifer sheep to shawl thing we do. I brought my wheel along too. I put my wheel on the back on the folded down seat in rear and hers was standing up…..we are nearly to the meeting place when I hear a sickening snap. I try to put it out of my mind….but I just can’t, I envision terrible things but just tell myself I am being silly. When we got to the meeting I opened up the back of the van to see my treadle sitting on the floor, it shouldn’t be that far away from the wheel, but alas… it was. Ed (the awesome woodworker who belongs to the guild) is now making me a new treadle….THANKS ED!! I can’t wait to get it back, I have some fiber to spin!!

Well, here are some pics taken in the yard. The snow is so pretty, but really bright. Poor Oscar was squinting!

Our local food store gives you 10 cents off a gallon for every $50 spent. I would not be able to afford gas at all if not for that.

hmmm cars should run on garbage like in Back to the Future II!

This gas thing is sickening, it’s forcing me to become a prisoner in my own home. We have plenty of snow here too. Too bad we can’t use it in the gas tank.

Hope your spinning wheel is fixed soon!

Gas is pretty pricey here too, I can look out my window and see that its… 1.09/litre which is about the same price as 3.40ish/gallon. Sucky. And sucky Costco lady for not just telling you… I wonder why she couldn’t?

    Yuck.

ANd you know darn well if they let women run the country, we would find a way to make cars work on snow.
