Coming to a close….

Our wonderful Florida vacation is coming to a close. Tomorrow morning we will be packing it in the van and heading to Virginia. Sunday, when we arrive home, it should be snowing. Can everyone say “ICK!!”

I promise pics and stuff when we get settled. (look for us mid week)

Until then, have a blessed day!!

And away we go….

Leaving this crappy weather (it is slushing outside) for nice warm temps and friends.

I have tried to upload photos but blogger is being stubborn and at this point I don’t want to be aggrevated, I just don’t care!

My scavenger hunt package was wonderful….I will post about it later. But THANK YOU!!

Alright, I am off to Columbus tonight to spend time with hubby and then on our way to FL tomorrow early.

HUGS to all! Be good and if I don’t “see” you before hand, have a fabulous Easter!

Just wanted to wish you a……

St Patricks Day Myspace Comments

Not much to report. I did receive my Knitting Scavenger hunt package, it looks great, I need to photograph it. But with only 2.5 hrs of sleep last night, Today is probably not the day.

I had to finish up my cookie crap….ugh did I really say crap. Well I didn’t say it, but I did type it. It is all done and waiting to get delivered. I didn’t have any dead beat parents this year….YEA!!!

Hubby is gone on business again this week, possibly next week as well. The girls and I are going to FL for 11 days on Thursday, I am so excited!!

My poor baby Oscar is going to my mom’s. I have to take him there today to see if he and Heidi will get along at her house, they get along fine here. (Heidi is my mom’s red dobie)

I finished the back of my cardi, working on the left front. Almost done with Chicken’s shrug, and I got a whole ton of fabbie to make pj pants (thanks Diane…LOL)

Alright off to the shower then downtown to the bank…yippee!

What do you mean my car doesn’t run on Snow?!!?!

Ugh, I went past the gas station earlier and it said

What do you mean my car doesn’t run on Snow?!!?!

Ugh, I went past the gas station earlier and it said 3.45. I am not excited about this. That is a HUGE jump from the 3ish dollars we were paying a gallon. So I figure Costco is cheaper than normal, but last time not as cheap. Costco is not just around the corner from me, it is 9.2 miles away (one way) I check their website….nope nothing. I decide to call, I get someone right away and didn’t have to navigate miles and miles of automated crap~this should have been a warning sign.

“Hi this is So and So…how may I direct your call”

me-”Hi So and So, I am a member and I was wondering if you could let me know how much gas is today?”

“Ooohhh, right, um….I am really not supposed to tell you that, but…..” (Here’s where I think she is going to tell me but she isn’t…you know, sneaky like)
“I’ll just tell you that when I was coming into work it was like…um….3.45 a gallon……and…um…..I just say this…….its way cheaper here”
me-”What do you mean its way cheaper? It is over 9 miles one way and I only need gas”
“Well ma’am I think it may….um….be worth the trip….maybe”

UGH! I just got $20 at BP, as I need to go to Costco for a client tomorrow. But do you know how much my $20 got me?

About a 1/3 of a tank in the van. With all the snow I really wish my van ran on it. We wouldn’t be having the problem with getting in and out of the drive if it ran on snow I tell ya. (Yes we do clear our drive but the stuff is melting slush and the it refreezes….ick!)

Last night we had our spinning guild meeting. I picked up my step mom because she wanted to take her wheel to the meeting as we were starting to spin for Heifer sheep to shawl thing we do. I brought my wheel along too. I put my wheel on the back on the folded down seat in rear and hers was standing up…..we are nearly to the meeting place when I hear a sickening snap. I try to put it out of my mind….but I just can’t, I envision terrible things but just tell myself I am being silly. When we got to the meeting I opened up the back of the van to see my treadle sitting on the floor, it shouldn’t be that far away from the wheel, but alas… it was. Ed (the awesome woodworker who belongs to the guild) is now making me a new treadle….THANKS ED!! I can’t wait to get it back, I have some fiber to spin!!

Well, here are some pics taken in the yard. The snow is so pretty, but really bright. Poor Oscar was squinting!

Nothing like Daylight Savings time to bring out the horrible mother in you

I hate Daylight savings time…why?!? Well, I just realized that it is past eight o’clock PM and I haven’t fed the kids. I told Chicken not to eat a frozen burrito thinking that it was plenty light out and was just wanting to eat me out of Frozen Burritoes (I swear this kids has a sixth sense or something as soon as they come into the house~it is her life’s goal to eat them and eat them ALL!!)

So I am finishing up our taxes, Chicken calls down again…”mom when are you making dinner I am starving??!”

I look at the clock on the computer, my mouth open to tell her to calm down, it isn’t that late………8:04:16 PM

Drat….she should be getting in the shower. Ugh, off to throw something together and hope that I haven’t scarred her for life!

Albeit Late, but better late than never…right?!!?

Okay so I am behind in my ABC posts, but I can play catch up right??

D is for Dining room. We have rented for years and years (over 10 of them) Then in Sept 2005 we bought our house. I love our house. It is everything I would want in a house (well a bigger kitchen would be nice, we are working on that one!) EXCEPT color! I love color! After years of renting with those boring cream walls I wanted color in our house. Now hubby could care less if we have color or not. I think he would prefer not, but he likes to keep me happy! Last Sunday we went out and got 2 Gallons of Glidden Flat Scrubbable paint in Freedom Blue. It is gorgeous and I cannot wait to finish up the dining room. The walls are painted now, just a matter of hanging stuff back up. I am afraid to mangle the walls so I think I will have hubby help me. So without further ado….the Dining Room…the Dramatic, Domestic, Diva (okay that is going a bit far) dining room!

UGH….sorry for the lack of photos. Blogger is being a PITA!! I will try to update the photos later to share as I am tired of trying now (working on 24 hrs) But trust me it is lovely!

Okay here is ONE stupid photo of me….off to try to upload more. (But this could be the Diva painting her Dull Dining Room a Dazzling shade of Blue)

Follow that dot

Our dog is definetly weird. He loves cat toys. I don’t know that I have had a dog so interested in cat toys. But the latest craze is the toy that Giggles got for Carli the devil cat. It is a laser pointer that is shaped like a mouse. For a mere $4.99 not only is Carli entertained, but apparently the whole famil it. We take Oscar outside and watch him chase it like a madman in the snow. We make it run under the couch so he waits and whines for it come back out. The kids have even taken to putting it on the ceiling so he will jump on the back of the couch and sometimes bark. It is hilarious and I just had to share. I guess this could be my “D” photo….”Dumb Dog” but I will post “D” tomorrow…so if you don’t have any guesses, just make something up.

Wow, has it really been so long….

Here I am realizing that it is Thursday and the few days ago that I posted that I would update have long since passed. But here are the long awaited (that might be a stretch) pics from Chicago.

Here I am realizing that it is Thursday and the few days ago that I posted that I would update have long since passed. But here are the long awaited (that might be a stretch) pics from Chicago.
The city was so beautiful, I loved the tall buildings, the night lights, the hustle and busy-ness. I just loved it all. I really enjoyed driving in Chicago as well. It was fun and definetly kept me on my toes!
I was able to go the the Art Institute while we were there. I was so excited as it was Free Feb while I was there. I would have payed to go in, but free…great! I was so excited to see so many painting and sculptures I had only looked at in books. I loved seeing them in 3D. The textures on the paintings were amazing. I found myself staring at them from the side just so I could see the texture. I really wanted to reach out and touch them, but my friend, David, assured me that if I touched the painting that I would not be allowed to touch anymore and I might not be welcome back…LOL!
I also went to Knitche…..okay the outside of it. Their website said that their knit night normally went on until 9 or 9:30 PM, well I got there on knit night around 9:05 and they were counting down their cash register. We hung outside and David even knocked…but to no avail. I was going to use the “I drove all the way from Ohio just to come to your store line,” but I think they saw it in my eye and never did come to the door. I think I may have made them a touch uncomfortable with the picture taking from the outside. We saw, but did not conquer Knitche….oh well, when I return this summer I will try to go again!

Later I will do up the Letter ‘D’. Here’s a hint…it is something Blue….any guesses. If you post to my comments and get it right I will give you a little prize. Something yarn related…or spinning related if you are a spinner. Let others know as well….we can make it fun!

Okay off to Giggles Choir Concert….see you all later!!
